Quite a rarity this Saturday in Cork (and Dublin, at The Joinery, the previous night), a live performance from an act on the beyond excellent Finders Keepers label (well, their subsidiary Bird, to be exact), run by ace crate-digger Andy Votel and best known for reissues of lost treasures from all parts of the planet (home to Jean Claude Vannier, Spanish psychploitation and Bollywood horror soundtracks, among many other recent greats). But they’ve made an exception for Astrud Steehouder, aka Paper Dollhouse, a creator of very Finders Keepers-ish “blues inflected psychedelic fairy tales” and a treasure in no danger of being misplaced. In fact, said tales could themselves be part of some forgotten English 70′s soundtrack, the kind where unthinkable things happen to innocent people, most likely in blank, rural surroundings.

The intriguing Patrick Kelleher and Children Under Hoof acolyte, School Tour, is on hand for strong support (in Triskel). It should all make for a great night…just don’t go home alone.
