Damn shame.
News just reaches us that the much-anticipated double bill featuring Michael Chapman and Hiss Golden Messenger, due to appear on May 3rd at Triskel Christchurch, will not now take place.
A reminder that both men will be on stage at Whelan’s in Dublin (along with Amanda Shires) next Monday, April 30th, as well as at various venues throughout the UK. And Hiss Golden Messenger also plays at the Kilkenny Roots Festival, appearing at The Pumphouse on May 5th (the gig at Ryan’s Bar on May 4th is sold out).
And if you haven’t seen it yet, go and check out Mike Taylor’s (that’s the guy behind HGM) Top 5 which he picked for us earlier in the week. It’s here and it’s a great set, featuring Richard & Linda Thompson, Gene Clark and The Band (live), among others.

Plus we’ll have more from HGM tomorrow in the form of his answers to some questions we asked him recently. Stay tuned. In the meantime, have a listen to a few tracks from his sublime current album, Poor moon. It’s a beautiful country-soul slow-burner.
