You may have heard that the French are coming to town on June 7th.
French electro duo (and maker of TOP notch tunes) Justice play Live at the Marquee in Cork that evening. And they’ve just announced a fairly special guest, DJ/Producer/Man about town Erol Alkan.
Space restrictions don’t allow a full run down on the man’s activities (our advice, do a Google search and wreak havoc yourselves), but his re-takes on already tasty tunes are legendary.
He’s also turned his hand to record label boss lately (Phantasy) and signed a young New Zealander named Connan Mockasin. He proceeded to re-work Connan’s epic 10-minute journey, otherwise known as ‘Forever dolphin love’ – reportedly, it’s Alkan’s favourite from his own vast catalogue. Listening closely, there’s a little early New Order rumbling away there under the melody.
