You might remember we spoke in January about an EP by Donegal-based Keith Mannion, who goes under Slow Place Like Home, the most enjoyable and largely instrumental Coastal hubs for chivalry.
To refresh your memory, go here.
Keith’s been in touch with some new material, a foretaste of his upcoming album, There go the lights again, due around June. The track is ‘Shady Jane’, listen below.
It possesses a stately backbeat, bubbling bass end and a vocal synth wash. The whole thing ends in a lovely fuzzy static rush.
The lyrics are also included on the soundcloud. Because of the vocal filter, these are indecipherable, but based on these vibrant lines, we’re thinking Keith should do more lyric writing.
Fell back home, complete with smile
And memoirs of the Royal Mile.
Heard that tone, my lullaby,
Reserved a seat and waved goodbye.
