Hands up who’s just back from Primavera?

Did you see Beach House there, where it sounded like they lit up the night visually as well as with their music, judging by this Pitchfork review?

News arrives this morning that the Baltimore – that’s Maryland, not west Cork – duo of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally (generally joined by a couple of friends these days) will be lighting up Cork in October, the 27th to be precise.

Which should suit anyone looking for a break from jazz very well as it falls during this year’s annual Jazz Festival in the city. They also play the Mandela Hall in Belfast the previous night, Oct 26th and Vicar Steet in Dublin the night after, Oct 28th.

It should also suit everyone with any feeling for drifting and emotive dream pop.
