Some more meat on the bones of the Electric Picnic lineup for August/September.

Interesting too to see some names in there that you will have noticed lately in these pages, in several cases in the glowing technicolour and/or moody monochrome of Bríd’s photographs.

Here’s the list.

EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY; VILLAGERS, DEXYS; BEN HOWARD; BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB; THE ANTLERS; NELL BRYDEN; BELLOWHEAD; PAUL BUCHANAN; PATRICK WATSON; WILD BEASTS; GRIMES; THE STAVES; ANDY IRVINE, DONAL LUNNY, LIAM O’FLYNN and PADDY GLACKIN; THE VACCINES.

Fans of Explosions in the Sky, crushed at the cancellation of their July Vicar Street show, will be delighted to see that band added. What stage they are allocated though, could be all important to the success of that gig.

Villagers and The Staves have both played recently. Check below for those beautiful photographic representations, as well as Niamh’s Cyprus Avenue review.

And of course, it can’t have escaped you that Grimes was in the country in the last month. If it did, read Eoghan’s Forbidden Fruit thoughts.

Paul Buchanan, Wild Beasts, Bellowhead, The Antlers and Patrick Watson are all tasty but the joker in the pack is definitely Dexys. This hilariously endearing and touching performance from Jools Holland recently would make for a main stage highlight after dark in Stradbally.
