The debut album from Dublin band Funeral Suits, Lily Of The Valley, comes out today on Model Citizen Records.

It was produced by Stephen Street (The Smiths and Blur, among many others), which is some kind of statement of intent.

The best kind of intent, of course, is contained in tunes. Our Eoghan was unconvinced by their live show at the recent Camden Crawl shindig in Dublin (read here). But you can take it that the official WeAreNoise jury is still out and that we’ll be interested to hear an album’s worth of work from them.

You can check the singles ‘All Those Friendly People’ and ‘Colour fade’ for yourself below. The latter, in particular, has some (not too conspicuous) hints of Foals about it, which could be an avenue worth exploring for them.

They’re also playing a number of live dates in the next week, starting in Tower Records today and finishing in the Real Capital next weekend.
