The good people at Hefty Horse were in touch about a social gathering they’re organising.
Conveniently, it’s called Heftfest, an all day gig run by Hefty Horse. And this being the third time they’ve run it, they’re calling this one Heft Fest III. (Come on, catch up…)
We asked Simon Hefty to give us a bit of background.
It all began 3 years ago in Whelan’s main venue where Goodtime John and Sacred Animals headlined our first fest. The turnout was fantastic and it was such a success we decided to do it again. Heftfest 2 took place in Whelan’s upstairs venue and we had the wonderful David Dondero play, as well as headliners Crayonsmith, Magic Pockets and I Heart The Monster Hero.
Heftfest 3 is going to take place in the wonderful Grand Social where we will have two stages set up, one in the venue itself and an unplugged stage out in the beer garden. This year we will have a BBQ and some fun and games out in the smoking area and DJs going all day. This years fest will be our biggest and most adventurous yet. The line up is not finalised yet but we are so excited about the bands we already have confirmed – Dinah Brand, Hello Moon, Seti The First, Barry McCormack, Roy Duffy, The Spook of the Thirteenth Lock, Shane Holly and Amidships.
Sounds great, says you – we’re quite excited by that too. Details following.
Heftfest 3 takes place in The Grand Social in Saturday September 8th.
Admission will be a mere €5 for the whole day.
Doors will be opening about 2.30pm.
