“Indiependence was the first major festival that we have played in our short career and I actually can’t remember a more fun and more successful weekend for our band. Apart from making new fans, we made some great friends. We were very lucky to have performed on the Friday night so we could make the most of the rest of the weekend and not feel guilty about having lost our voices! We camped all weekend with the festival goers, having sing-a-longs until 4a.m. and drinking all day and night. Even though it was muddy (to say the least!) it just added to the aspect of fun by falling over and dragging our feet out with our hands. Ronan, our drummer, was the guy wearing the white suit all weekend and how he managed to stay relatively white was a surprise to everyone! Overall we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend – despite the rain and mud – the atmosphere created by the people and the musicians is one that is only true to Ireland, and to Cork – ‘great craic’!”
