Sharing is caring, so we thought we’d do a little.
WeAreNoise sources just brightened our day by passing this on. It bears no relation to Veritas, don’t worry. Rather it’s a Galway-based duo consisting of Jimmy Monaghan and Aisling Walsh. Other than that, our information is a bit sketchy for now.
The tune, though, is a thrilling folk singalong with an invigorating kiss-off punchline.
“And if you don’t like what I do, then fuck you”
We mentioned Tír na nÓg yesterday in relation to The Driftwood Manor and there’s an element of them here too, all descending bass notes and drones. The singing is the ace card, mind you, a bracing male-female two-hander.
Great what you can do with an acoustic guitar, a shaker and some attitude.
And a car. In the video, the pair have that shitcool Kings of Leon look – this would be a drawback if the song didn’t have you by the hand already.
So fuck you, Veritas, I’m singing Freebird. Yeah.

Those two stayed on my couch on Friday night. Lovely lovely people! Jimmy is the drummer from Yawning Chasm and also records minimalist piano compositions under his own name as Gaeilge Seamus O’Muineachain.
Check him out!
