Today brings the first day of Electric Picnic 2012 and it also brings my first encounter with the festival. As a music photographer and avid music fan, I have been to countless gigs this year and I have decided that for this playlist I will only include bands that I am looking forward to, but have not seen live yet. Bring it.
So, here we go. Cold Specks is one of the most evocative artists I have listened to recently. Who needs big bands, fancy visuals and big production videos when you have a voice like this. Watch this video and try to argue with me.

Kimbra has long been quite the obsession for me and i cannot stop going back to this video of her from SXSW this year. Find me up front for her set; eyes peeled and head bobbing.
As a passenger on the roads leading to fine ol’ Rosscarbery Hot Chip was forever on repeat. This link is an obvious one, but it never fails to get the blood pumping. Even in rural west Cork.
I am looking forward to too many musicians playing at the Picnic that is tolerable to mention. I leave you with Sigor Ros. They need no introduction and certainly no explanation as to why I am looking forward to seeing them live.
