Meet The High Elders

The-High-EldersNice to hear from James Strain of Carlow again.

James goes under the moniker Auxilliary Phoenix as you’ll know if you’ve been keeping up.

Here’s his latest note which explains the background to his new recording venture, The High Elders.

The High Elders is a new project from myself (Auxiliary Phoenix, y’know) & Gentle Jones (Delaware based rapper). The beats are futuristic, wonky,
alternative hip hop and the vocals are poetic, concept based rap. We’ve been working together through the internet now for a few years and we’re
putting out our debut album as a group next year, called ‘The Forest of Pencils’.

Our newest track is called ’21 Grams’. It is co-produced by Jimmy Quail, who started off the track with a chopped sample and a drum beat. I then
expanded on the beat and added more drums, guitar, etc. and Gentle Jones brought it all together with some otherworldy lyrics about death and life.
Here’s the track on Soundcloud (with download):

We have more tunes from the upcoming record and other collaborations between the two of us in this set here:

Hope you enjoy the tunes, – James Strain (Auxiliary Phoenix)
