The Vincent(s), New Single Throne Song

The Vincent(s) Fever Dreams

Words: Conor O’Toole

The Vincent(s) are back with another burst of live activity, to coincide with their new single which comes out on March 14th.

The release is a double A side featuring ‘Throne song’ and Fever dreams’, of which the former is now streaming below.

There’s a wonderfully lugubrious groove to ‘Throne song’, bass-lead, and quite deliberate, mid-tempo. It’s very much post-punk but at stalking pace, almost as if a Joy Division single were slowed down to 33rpm.

In keeping with the likeness, there’s another anguished, persuasive vocal from Marcus Allen (liking those whoos once more) and a savage burst of industrial guitar noise from Jonathan Horgan to finish.

It all amounts to something dream-like, something gloomy, something menacing, something a bit fucking dangerous.

It’s really good.
